2025 Whitehorse Calendar

Calling for photo submissions for our 2025 Whitehorse Calendar.

We are asking our residents to show us (new or old) images of your favourite things in our beautiful area. It could be architecture, flora or fauna, a public artwork, cultural activity, or little-known spot you love visiting.

Your photos will go into the running to be part of our 2025 Whitehorse Calendar which is distributed to Whitehorse residents at the end of this year.

Submission close 5pm Monday 16 September 2024.

Or you can pick up a copy of the calendar from one of our Service Centres from late November.

10 steps for taking a great iPhone or Android photo

Clean the lens for clear photos.
Learn and adjust camera app settings.
Use natural light whenever possible.
Avoid digital zoom, get closer physically.
Experiment with composition and angles.
Enable gridlines for better framing.
Tap to focus and adjust exposure.
Hold the phone steady to avoid blur.
Try HDR mode for challenging lighting.
Edit photos to enhance them.

Where in Whitehorse was your photograph taken?

I understand that Whitehorse City Council may use my photographs for the 2025 Whitehorse Calendar and other publications, such as on the Council’s website and social media or in printed publications. I also understand that the Council may use/continue to use the photographs for up to 5 years after the competition. As the Council may use these photographs for up to 5 years, the Council’s officers may access them over that time when they are creating promotional material. Due to the nature of online publications, if a photograph is posted online, the Council will not be able to control whether it is copied or redistributed.

When the Council handles personal information, like personal photograph/s, it is required to comply with the Privacy & Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). More information about the Council’s Privacy obligations can be found at whitehorse.vic.gov.au/privacy-statement.
