Good streetscape design increases the value of the area, improves quality of life for residents and increases accessibility for everyone in the community.
A streetscape is made up of the physical attributes found on roads and streets such as trees, naturestrips, street furniture, street lighting, facades, heritage features, footpaths and signage. These attributes work together to encourage community interaction and create a cohesive look and character for the neighbourhood.
By maintaining and repairing footpaths and roads, planting new trees and assessing proposed renovations and developments, Council helps create a safe and liveable community for its residents.
