Vermont South Neighbourhood House offers a diverse range of educational, recreational and social programs designed for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Our classes foster community-based learning in a supportive, friendly, and welcoming environment.
Whether you’re looking to develop new skills, explore a hobby, or connect with others, our programs provide the perfect opportunity to learn, have fun, and build meaningful social connections within your community.
Our hours are Monday to Friday: 9am - 3.30pm during School Terms
Programs and services include:
- Art and Craft: Drawing and Painting, Introduction to Gel Plate Printing, Patchwork & Applique, Mosaics - Self Directed Group
- Children’s Activities: Sketching for Children/Tweens (8 yrs +)
- General Interest: French Conversation, The Gift of Clarity - Planning Ahead Together
- Health, Fitness and Wellbeing: Chair Yoga, Meditation, Strength Training, Tai Chi for Beginners, Yoga and Relaxation
- Justice of the Peace (Free): A Document Signing Station with a Justice of the Peace (JP) on Tuesdays from 1.30pm - 3.30pm during School Terms
- Learn Local: We offer subsidised Adult Education courses - Art as Therapy – Creative Community Connections, Introduction to Barista and Coffee Making Skills
- Social Programs: Knit and Chat, Origami - Cards, Boxes and Decorations, Walking Groups
- Tech Help (Free): With computers, phones and tablets. Mondays from 10.00am - 11.00am during School Terms, need to book!
- Venue Hire: Children’s parties and Community Groups. Available on a regular or casual basis. Our main room The Function Room has a large capacity and is available for meetings, family gatherings and parties (except teenage and 21st Birthday parties). It is an ideal venue for children's birthday parties!
- Volunteering Opportunities – Assistance with Community Events, Community Gardening/Maintenance, Computers & IT Support
