Election Campaign Donation Returns
A general election for Whitehorse City Council was held on 24 October 2020.
In accordance with the Local Government Act 2020, all candidates in the election are required within 40 days after the Election Day to lodge an election campaign donation return with Council’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Then within 14 days from the end of the 40 day period, the CEO is required to:
- Submit a written report to the Minister specifying the names of the candidates and the names of the candidates who submitted a return;
- Ensure that a summary of each election campaign donation return received is made available on Council’s website until the close of the roll for the next general election; and
- Ensure that a copy of an election campaign donation return is available for inspection at the office of Council during normal office hours, for a period of four years from the date that it is given.
