View your fine photos

For many Council parking and Local Laws fines, photos are taken by Officers as a record of the fine. These photos can be used when matters are taken before the Victorian Magistrates' Court to assist in determining the outcomes of disputed fine.

Reviewing the fine photographic evidence may help you decide if it is your fine and whether you should pay or would be successful if you appeal your fine. If you feel that the photographs will not support an appeal application, you can pay your fine.

NOTE: There is no legislative requirement for Council Officers to take photographs when issuing a fine. If there are no photos related to your fine, you are still required to take action to deal with the fine.

Are Authorised Council Officers allowed to take photos of my child?

The safety of children is of the highest priority to Council. Authorised Officers are vigilant in enforcing parking restrictions around schools. Photographs that include children are taken in a public place. Please be reassured that:

  • The photos are not taken specifically of children
  • Officers hold valid Working with Children checks
  • Only authorised staff have access to these photos
  • Photographs are stored by Council in a secure location and subject to Council's Privacy Information Policy ( PDF 182.51KB)
