Whitehorse is a Welcoming City!
We're thrilled to announce Whitehorse City Council joined the Welcoming Cities initiative in 2023 at the committed level.
Welcoming Cities, an initiative of Welcoming Australia, is a national network of local Councils who are committed to an Australia where everyone can belong and participate in social, cultural, economic and civic life.
Welcoming Cities supports local Councils to promote social cohesion so communities become more welcoming and inclusive of diversity. Welcoming Cities is a framework for action and a platform for Councils to share information, support one another and collaborate.
Mayor Denise Massoud said Whitehorse is proud of its cultural diversity. “We’re excited to embark on this journey to make Whitehorse an even more diverse, inclusive, and welcoming place for all,” Cr Massoud said. “Becoming a member of Welcoming Cities also supports our Whitehorse 2040 Community Vision and how to address being a Diverse and Inclusive Community.”
