Basketmakers of Victoria Inc formed in 1986 and have met at the Cottage in Wattle Park since 2000.
We are a membership organisation and have meetings every two months. Our members weave contemporary and traditional objects using natural, man-made and recycled materials.
On Wednesdays and Sunday the cottage is open to the public. We have a gallery onsite displaying members’ work and an extensive basketry-related library.
We hold workshops and events at the Cottage throughout the year.
Our members promote basketmaking at various events around the state including Lost Trades Fair, Bendigo Sheep and Wool show and the Melbourne Craft and Quilt Fair.
