Current Street Tree Pruning

Published: Wednesday 04 Dec 2024

We are currently conducting street tree pruning in the Blackburn area.

This work is essential for community safety and is legislated by Energy Safe Victoria's Electric Line Clearance Regulations 2020. Council are required to maintain safe distances between trees and power lines as well as roads, and footpaths. All street and park trees must be pruned to achieve this clearance.

We understand that unfortunately pruning can temporarily affect the look of our streets, but it's crucial for preventing potential hazards.

We work hard to maintain as much tree canopy as possible whilst working within these constraints for the benefit of the community.

Neighbouring residents will have received a pruning notification card, this explains why trees near your property are being trimmed.
