Works taking place Major construction works have now commenced and will continue throughout 2022. 

To facilitate major works, the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) team will continue to establish site storage facilities in the north-west oval (next to the baseball diamond) at Surrey Park. Site investigations at Surrey Park have commenced and the crews will continue to undertake multiple construction activities to establish the site. Works will include:

• Construction of driveways to provide access to the site 
• Installation of fencing and temporary lighting around the site 
• Delivery of earth material and crushed rock to build foundations 
• Construction of storage areas 
• Delivery and set up of site sheds and facilities 
• Connection of utilities to the site compound
• Ongoing site investigations

From late-April, temporary signage will be installed on the residential side of Standard Avenue to create clearways for construction vehicles. 

The driveways located on the reserve side of Standard Avenue are currently no longer available for parking and will remain unavailable until late 2023.

During this time:  

• There will be increase in truck movements, with up to 20 trucks per day while site is set up.  
• Project vehicles will use existing driveways on the southern side of Standard Avenue to access site 
• Traffic management staff will be in place at times and some minor delays may be experienced while these works are carried out 
• Driveways will no longer be available for parking on Standard Avenue, and will remain unavailable until late 2023 
• There will be an increase in large deliveries to site

Other impacts of these works include: 

• Construction noise and activity, with vehicles, machinery and workers on site 
• Minor delays for vehicles are expected while these works are carried out 

Road users are advised to drive with care and follow the direction of traffic control and signage in place. 

The majority of work will take place during normal construction hours, 7am – 6pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays between 7am - 6pm. LXRP will provide further notice if any works need to take place outside of these times
