Whitehorse has outperformed both state and metropolitan averages in the 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey.
The survey provides insights into how our services are performing in comparison to other councils in Victoria, identifying what we’re doing well and areas for improvement.
The Community Satisfaction Survey is conducted annually by an independent market research company, gathering feedback from over 500 randomly selected residents representing a diverse cross-section of our community.
What are some of the key 2024 results?
Despite a general decline in local government performance scores since 2021, this year Council’s overall performance has stabilised. We achieved an overall performance score of 66, which is considerably higher than the statewide score of 54 and a metropolitan average of 63.
At a state level, we have significantly outperformed the average in 16 out of 18 individual service areas evaluated. Many of these areas have seen an increase in performance scores, and no areas assessed have declined from 2023 results. Compared to our metropolitan counterparts, we achieved significantly higher ratings for ‘waste management’ and the ‘condition of sealed local roads’.
Our community has told us that the top 3 best things about Whitehorse are:
- Parks & Gardens
- Recreational/Sporting Facilities
- Waste Management, including Hard Waste & Recovery Centre
While Council has seen positive results this year, we remain committed to continuous improvement and will use findings from the survey to identify and address areas for further improvement to better serve our community.
