Everyone can now get a 10c refund as part of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (Vic CDS) on eligible drink containers in locations across Whitehorse including:

• EnviroBank Depot: Rooks Road, Nunawading 
• Reverse Vending Machine (RVM): Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre, Brentford Square Forest Hill, Blackburn Square Shopping Centre, World Vision Burwood East and Box Hill Central Shopping Centre
• Over the counter: multiple locations 

It's easy to get a refund: 

• Collect eligible drink containers: check for the 10c mark 
• Find a refund point near you
• Take your containers to the refund point and collect your 10c refund 

You also have the option to donate your refund to charity using the App.

CDS Vic will provide shared benefits to the community, environment and circular economy including:  

• more and better recycling  
• reduced litter - cut by up to half 
• new jobs and economic opportunities across Victoria, including for charities and community groups 

CDS Vic will make it easy for everyone to participate with a network of refund points across Victoria. The network operator for Whitehorse City Council is Visy and they will manage three types of refund points: 

1. The high-speed depot is at 2/34-42 Rooks Road, Nunawading VIC 3131, Nunawading.  State of the art sorting machines count everything in one go. This is great for residents as well as hotels, restaurants, and catering venues with large quantities of drink containers.
2. Reverse vending machines, that are standalone machines in car parks or suitable locations that can scan and verify eligible containers for a refund.  
3. Over the counter sites co-located with businesses where people can hand containers over the counter for a refund. 

Receiving your refund 

Vouchers, electronic payments, cash or a donation option will be available depending on the type of refund point you visit.  

Visy will have an app for those who prefer electronic payments (EFT, PayPal, donations). The app features useful information to make your refund experience as quick and easy as possible. Find out more about the Visy app.
