Early Years Environmental Education - Incursions

Whitehorse City Council offer a range of Environmental Education incursions to Kinder and Early Learning Centres groups in Whitehorse. 

The following themes can be explored during a FREE one hour incursion, facilitated by a Whitehorse Environmental Education Officer. 

Incursion Topics

Habitat Where do living things like to live? Who lives where and why?
Day and Night Animals When do animals like to snooze; day or night?
Water Cycle/Water Life What is the water cycle? Can we see it in action around us?
Sustainability What is sustainability? How can we use use resources sustainably at school and kinder?
Weather and Seasons Weather changes and seasons come and go. How do people, plants and animals respond to these changes?
Caring for All Living Things Big or small: caring for living things begins with empathy. 
Human Impact of the Environment How do our actions impact our environment? What can we do to ensure that we have a positive impact on the environment?
Indigenous Perspectives Lets learn more about Wurundjeri culture by discovering some Woi Wurrung language words and play some games. 
Plants What is a plant? What are the parts of a plant? Let's explore the life cycle of plants.
Birds Who can weave a home without any hands, and soar over the tallest trees? What else makes birds so special?
Feathers, Fur and Scales (Animal Features) Who has what and why in the animal world?
