You might start noticing new baskets attached to public bins around Whitehorse. These are Victorian Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) recycling baskets, making recycling on the go even easier.

If you have an empty eligible container, simply place it in the basket. People who collect containers are also welcome to take them and return them to a CDS refund point for 10 cents.

Pop your empty eligible container into one of the baskets at these local spots:

• Park Rd Shops, Mitcham
• Rangeview Shops, Mitcham
• Brentford Square, Forest Hill
• Sportlink, Vermont South
• Houston Shops, Box Hill South
• Hamilton St, Mont Albert
• Box Hill Gardens, Box Hill (3 locations near BBQ area)

People collecting containers can also take them for a 10c refund. These baskets help keep containers out of landfill, reduce litter, and protect our streets and waterways. More baskets are coming soon!
