Whitehorse City Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Cr Andrew Davenport as our new Mayor for the 2024/25 term, supported by Cr Prue Cutts as Deputy Mayor.

Both were elected by their fellow councillors at a special meeting at Council’s chambers in Nunawading on Monday night.

Cr Davenport has previously served as Mayor in 2017/18 and as Deputy Mayor in 2023/24. He said he was proud to lead the city in an “important foundation year for this council.”

“I look forward to working with each one of my fellow councillors to deliver good governance and good services for the community, and to work together for the next four years,” Cr Davenport said.

Cr Davenport (Wattle Ward) and Cr Cutts (Simpson Ward) will serve in their roles for the next 12 months. They will lead our newly elected group of 11 councillors following the results of our recent Victorian local government elections. You can find out who is representing your ward by visiting our ‘Councillors’ web page.

At last night’s meeting, Council also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing councillors Raylene Carr, Mark Lane, Tina Liu, Denise Massoud, Amanda McNeill, Andrew Munroe and Trudy Skilbeck for their services to the organisation and the community.

Our new councillor group has been elected to serve until October 2028, and they will have their first ordinary council meeting on Monday 2 December from 7pm.
