A very pretty tree for shade and autumn colour, Persian Ironwood originates in Iran so it is tolerant of heat and drought. It is very slow growing and may eventually reach over 8m but this will take more than 2 decades. As it is not widely planted in Melbourne yet, this is a good substitute for more common deciduous trees like Chinese Elms.
