Personal Background
I have lived in Whitehorse for 25+ years. Outside of Council, I work as a primary school teacher.
What motivated you to run for Council?
I wanted to make a difference, be a voice for the community and advocate on important issues.
Areas of interest/professional knowledge
I am currently working as a primary school teacher and have close association with a range of local community and sporting organisations including Scouting, Rotary, Lions and Neighbourhood Watch.
What are your key principles?
I believe all citizens, regardless of age, have a say in matters that affect them.
What are the key priorities for you in this Council term?
I have two main priorities this Council term:
- Ensuring Council is financially sustainable and provides high quality services to our community
- Taking Whitehorse from good to great -- creating a place we can all be proud of.
What are the key challenges for Whitehorse?
I believe there are many challenges, including:
- Population growth/ageing population.
- Providing adequate community sporting facilities.
- Maintaining our neighbourhood character and tree canopy, including green open space.
