Cr Prue Cutts (Deputy Mayor)
Personal Background
Prue Cutts was elected as a Whitehorse City Councillor in October 2016, representing the then-Springfield Ward with approximately 35,000 citizens in the Mitcham, Nunawading, Vermont and Forest Hill areas. She was re-elected to represent Simpson Ward (Mitcham / Vermont) in 2020 after Ward boundary changes and has been re-elected to Simpson Ward at the recent 2024 elections.
Prue was Deputy Mayor in 2022/23 and is the current Deputy Mayor of Whitehorse.

What are the key priorities for you in this Council term?
- preserving and enhancing our open spaces and streetscapes
- maintaining neighbourhood character and opposing inappropriate development
- community health and wellbeing including mental health, promoting multiculturalism
- improving opportunities for active engagement of youth
- enhancing community and sporting facilities for the benefit of all
- supporting a strong and vibrant local business sector.
Affiliation/Membership
I am an active community member and a Multicultural Ambassador for the Mental Health Foundation of Australia, and a previous board member of Berengarra School for secondary students with social and emotional issues. I am a current member of the Whitehorse Historical Society.
Areas of interest/professional knowledge
I have served on many Committees and Boards during my 8 years on Council including on the boards of the Whitehorse Business Group and the Whitehorse Manningham Regional Library. I served on the Eastern Region Group of Councils, Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action (EAGA), Victorian Local Governance Association, and Whitehorse-specific committees including the Environment and Sustainability, Sport and Recreation, Heritage and the Visual Arts Advisory Committees.
