Whitehorse City Council is committed to upgrade assets for community groups and the broader community to live an active and healthy lifestyle.
The four pavilions located at Terrara Park, Vermont South have served the community well however, it is now time for these pavilions to be redeveloped to meet community expectations and legislative requirements.
A new pavilion with a larger footprint will replace the existing pavilions in a similar location. The pavilion design has moved the social space and spectator areas closer to the playing fields to enhance the functionality and improve the amenity of the park. The new pavilion will service the multiple sports fields used in summer and winter and will primarily include:
- Change rooms and amenities that are female friendly;
- Multi purpose room that will be available for clubs to socialise and available for community groups when not occupied by the sporting clubs;
- Kitchen;
- First Aid room;
- Public toilets;
- Umpires rooms to accommodate mixed gender officials;
- Storage rooms; and
- Bin enclosure accessed via the existing car park.
Works are in progress with the concrete slabs being constructed followed by the erection of the steel structure.
It is anticipated the project will be complete by end of 2021 however, Officers are monitoring the State Government directives for any required lockdown and the impact this may cause to the construction industry.
Council Officers appreciate your understanding whilst the pavilion is under construction.
Temporary facilities are located onsite to service the public and Club needs during the construction period.
