Inspections, Compliance and Infringements on Development Sites

Inspections are to ensure compliance with permit requirements and will be undertaken at various stages of a permit such as the beginning and/or end of each day of permits, or key stages. Inspection fees vary depending on the type of inspection and whether they are required to occur within working hours or out of hours.

Non-compliance with permit requirements or the Building and Works Code of Practice will incur an Infringement.

Planning Infringement Notices

If you have received a fine from Whitehorse City Council, you should act now to avoid further costs.

You will know you have received a Council fine if it has the Whitehorse City Council logo printed on it. If there is no Council logo, you will need to discuss the matter with the organisation that issued the fine.

What happens if you take no action​​​​​​ about your fine?

Fines don't just go away. Your fine will escalate through the fine process and may incur additional costs. After 28 days, Council will send you a Penalty Reminder Notice which may incur additional costs.
