Council hosts National Tree Day annually with the help of our community. National Tree Day supports our Urban Forest Strategy objectives of enhancing biodiversity, extending our urban forest and our target of increasing canopy cover.
In 2023 we created new garden beds as part of the green corridors program at the Gardiners Creek Trail Reserve. Gardiners Creek was the first corridor chosen in this program that involved a concentrated effort towards improvements to biodiversity, habitat and tree canopy coverage.
