Upon request, Whitehorse City Council Environmental Education Programs operate at Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve.
Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve is a 7-hectare bushland park in Mitcham. Yarran Dheran adjoins the Mullum Mullum Creek which forms an important habitat corridor for a wide variety of plants and animals. Visitors often observe wildflowers, rosellas, kookaburras and other wildlife.
Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve has accessible toilets, drinking water taps, picnic tables and lawn area. The Information Centre is available for Environmental Education bookings by arrangement.
Why visit Yarran Dheran for your next excursion?
Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve has ponds, small creeks, a 'waterfall' and the beautiful Mullum Mullum Creek. These features make learning about water quality, the water cycle and Riparian corridors meaningful and memorable.
The Environmental Education Program can support schools in conducting Habitat assessments at Yarran Dheran and can share insights into the fascinating history and geography of the area.
The lawn and adjacent bushland are favourite spaces for younger groups who enjoy Nature Play. ELC/Kindergarten visitors find this part of Yarran Dheran easily accessible from the car park and close to toilet facilities.
