Children from Starfish Early Learning Centre in Blackburn South recently proved that age is no barrier to environmental volunteering in Whitehorse.
The children very carefully planted a variety of local native plants that are well suited to the area. Many of these species will have colourful flowers to attract and feed local pollinators.
By getting involved in improving a familiar outdoor space, these children are developing a stronger sense of belonging and stewardship, while helping to create habitat for native birds, insects and other wildlife.
