Works taking place
From Monday 2 May 2022 works to relocate existing combined service route (CSR) cabling will continue.
Crews will be undertaking excavation, trenching, boring and conduit installation works adjacent to the rail corridor fence line.
Between 7am and 6pm on Tuesday 10 May there will be a temporary road closure on Churchill Street, adjacent to Box Place to set up a crane and facilitate the delivery of large concrete pits to site. Access to driveways will be maintained for local residents with the assistance of traffic management staff upon request.
So far on Churchill Street, while working to install the new CSR components, crews have:
- delivered and installed33 pre-cast concrete pits
- completed approximately 400 metres of CSR trenching work
- bored a length of 45 metres which included underneath Creswick Lane
Ongoing CSR works, crane mobilisation and deliveries of concrete will take place over the coming weeks and will require temporary road closures on Churchill Street. The Level Crossing Removal Project team will notify residents of any additional temporary road closures in advance via doorknocks and SMS. There will also be an increase in construction vehicles and machinery accessing and delivering project materials in the area. This work will be ongoing throughout 2022.
Upcoming night works: Surrey Hills and Mont Albert
Between 9pm – 4am each night from Monday 2 May until Wednesday 4 May and also from Sunday 8 May until Wednesday 11 May, crews will work throughout night in the rail corridor and around Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Stations to deliver project materials.
