Whitehorse City Council MCH offers a free lactation support service by appointment one day per week with a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). The service provides information, advice and support with any breastfeeding or lactation challenges to gain breastfeeding confidence.  

Support available for example:

• Establishing comfortable positioning and attachment
• Management of sore nipples
• Assessment of milk supply
• Mastitis
• Thrush
• Tongue tie
• Support with twins or premature baby
• Cleft lip or palate
• Expressing
• Feeding older baby or toddler

Referral is through your Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
