Coercive control is a hidden, ongoing pattern of abuse designed to dominate and intimidate, in intimate or close relationships. It undermines a person's boundaries, confidence, and independence. While commonly affecting women and perpetrated by men, it can occur in any relationship, including in families or caregiver roles, gender diverse and same-sex relationships. Warning signs include love bombing, gaslighting, financial control, and tech abuse.
