Whitehorse News - October 2023
Meet Ashleigh Boyce, Council’s Administration and Events Officer. She plays a pivotal role in organising some of our biggest public events, including this month’s massive Spring Festival. |
Ashleigh joined Council at the start of 2023 after working mainly in arts and live events for more than a decade. She has a strong desire to contribute to events specifically designed to enrich and engage the local community.
“Whitehorse was a natural fit for me due to its incredibly diverse community and its beautiful parks and facilities,” she said. “I saw this as a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community through my work.”
Ashleigh has a wide range of responsibilities in her role, which includes organising community events and filming permits.
“Many people might not be aware that even hosting a party in one of Whitehorse’s beautiful parks may require a permit,” she said. “It’s always a good idea to check our website if you’re uncertain about the requirements for your event.”
The other part of her position is with Council’s Festivals team, helping create engaging and fun events for the Whitehorse community, all of which are free to attend. Some of them include this month’s Spring Festival, December’s Whitehorse Carols and January’s Australia Day concert.
“They ultimately enhance our community’s overall quality of life," she said. "I’m proud to be part of a team that strengthens community connections and crafts unforgettable moments for our residents.”
