Whitehorse City Council is well known for its tree lined streets and autumn is synonymous with falling leaves. Council's street sweepers will be out in force again this year sweeping leaves and other debris from the streets.
Resident reminders - how you can help us
- While we understand it’s a challenging time of year, we ask you to be patient and understanding when calling our customer service staff.
- Once the sweeper passes your property, it will not turn around to accommodate moving of vehicles, as this helps us stay on schedule.
- To ensure more effective street sweeping, we kindly ask residents not to park on the street on scheduled ( PDF 71.72KB) sweeping days.
- Sweeping is focused on collecting leaves and debris from Council trees, not from private properties.
- Please avoid raking or blowing leaves onto the road after the sweeper has passed. Wait until the next scheduled sweep.
- Do not place branches or rocks under leaves, as this can damage the sweepers and cause operational delays
- Please refrain from emptying green bins in front of the sweepers, as this creates a safety hazard and can cause traffic disruptions.
The autumn street sweeping program will commence on Monday 16 March 2026 and concludes Friday 26 June 2026.
