The Box Hill Town Hall has been a place for community members to meet, learn and celebrate for many years. Home to 17 not-for-profit organisations, a Council-run customer service centre and the Artspace Gallery, the town hall sits in the heart of Box Hill and provides multiple services to the local residents.
The Art Deco Main Hall and nine meeting rooms located in the Box Hill Town Hall are available for hire. Regularly used for scenes in local television dramas, the town hall is a National Trust registered building with commercial kitchens and an onsite catering option.
Artspace Gallery is situated inside the town hall and is home to the City of Whitehorse Art Collection, an extensive body of work including paintings and sketches by the pioneering Australian Impressionist artists who painted in the area.
For more information on booking a function room, group tours, exhibitions and upcoming events please visit the Creative Whitehorse website.

Volunteer Opportunities at Artspace
Are you interested in local history? Did you know that the Box Hill region was the birthplace of Australian Impressionism? Do you enjoy talking to people about art and history? Volunteering at the Whitehorse Artspace as a gallery attendant might be the role for you.
Council is looking for volunteers to assist our Curator in providing customer service to people who visit our Gallery during business hours and Saturdays. Council’s gallery is located within Box Hill Town Hall. As a valued member of the team you will receive briefings on upcoming Exhibitions and be invited to Exhibition opening events. Please note that a clear National Criminal History Check is required as part of the recruitment process.
