In December, we proudly brought together our amazing volunteers and community grants recipients for a shared celebration honouring the people who strengthen Whitehorse every day. 

In the spirit of the 2025 International Volunteer Day theme, ‘Every Contribution Matters’, the event highlighted the skills, heart, creativity, and community leadership that make our city vibrant and resilient.

Our volunteers enrich Whitehorse through 19 active groups, from Gardens for Wildlife and advisory committees to arts, sustainability, and wellbeing programs.

Our community grants recipients turn local ideas into action, with 111 projects funded last year across arts, culture, inclusion, environment, health, and more. Together, their combined efforts reflect the Whitehorse 2040 Community Vision ( PDF 880.27KB) and our belief that community is at the heart of everything we do.
