The State Government introduced laws to make swimming pools and spas safer for everyone. All pools and spas must be registered with your local Council. A compliance certificate is required to be submitted to your local Council for the safety barriers and fences every 4 years.
This requirement applies to all swimming pools and spas containing water greater than 30cm including:
- in-ground pools and spas
- above-ground pools and spas
- indoor pools and spas
- relocatable (including inflatable) pools, spas and hot tubs.
Find out more about registration requirements on the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) website.
All pools and spas should be registered.
