The 2024/25 report outlines progress in the fourth and final year of the Council Plan 2021–2025 and informs our community on our activities, performance and achievements for the 2024/25 financial year.

Community Highlights
- 2 social enterprise cafes opened their doors in Whitehorse to offer skill development, confidence and community connection with people living with a disability
- Council received a record of 207 Community Grant applications and awarded $242,000 to fund community projects.
- Council launched the Box Hill Cultural Food Tours, showcasing the rich and diverse culinary traditions across 25 local businesses.
- Council formed the inaugural Junior Voicenaters consisting of 32 students from 13 primary schools. These young leaders guide council’s initiatives and help shape a more inclusive and child-friendly city.
- Whitehorse Manningham libraries delivered digital literacy sessions to seniors. Due to the overwhelming interest, the sessions were increased to 58 and attracted 370 participants.

Capital Works Highlights
- Play spaces at Heatherdale Reserve and Antonio Park, Mitcham were completed as part of the play space renewal program, providing new equipment and welcome play space for our community
- Council acquired and transformed a disused car park in Box Hill South into a new open space park, featuring an open grass area, seating, picnic tables and a gravel path connecting to the creek trail.
- Nunawading Shopping Centre streetscape received an upgrade in 2024/25 which included the replacement of paving, street furniture, garden beds, driveway crossovers and pram crossings.
- Renewal of the East Burwood Reserve south sporting field was completed which included renewal of the natural turf playing surface, boundary line fence, drainage, irrigation, AFL goal posts, cricket wicket, safety netting and synthetic grass areas.
