Blackburn Lake Sanctuary

Blackburn Lake Sanctuary is the largest bushland park in the City of Whitehorse at approximately 27 Ha.

Situated in the centre of the city, the main entrance is off Central Rd where there is car parking and access to the Visitor Centre. Pedestrians can also access the Sanctuary from Lake Rd.

The park is popular with those wanting to enjoy the remnant bushland with its many birds and wildflowers, and to use the numerous walking tracks. The popular Lake Circuit walk takes a leisurely 30 minutes.

There is a picnic area with BBQs, drinking taps, a playground, and toilets.

The Visitor Centre is open most Sundays 2pm-4pm, hosted by volunteers.

All plants and animals are protected in the Sanctuary and there is no fishing. Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.

The Blackburn Lake Sanctuary Advisory Committee welcome interested members and participants at their free events. For further information please visit the Blackburn Lake Sanctuary Advisory Committee webpage.
