Council’s next Parent Information Forum in July will discuss adolescents and risk taking behaviour.
Whitehorse Councillor Raylene Carr said the monthly forums, which run throughout most of the year, were popular and successful events run to support the community’s parents, grandparents and carers.
“These forums address a different and important, relevant topic each month. This time around, Making Sense of Adolescence and Risk Taking Behaviour (8-18 years) asks: What if reducing risks was much easier than you thought? What if reducing risk is more about what you do, rather than what you don’t do?” Cr Carr said.
“The approach to risk reduction that is explored in the forum can help strengthen families, communities and young people.”
Presenter Rod Dungan is a director and trainer with Thriving Youth Australia and has more than 40 years of experience in working with young people.
