Make use of great summer holiday activities in Whitehorse

4 Jan 2018

It’s not always easy to keep energetic kids entertained during school holidays, but Council offers a wide range of activities to keep them happy during the summer vacation.

Whitehorse Councillor Ben Stennett said affordable, entertaining and educational activities were run at Council venues throughout January.

“These are free or low-cost and cater for children across all age groups. Choose from water fun, art and craft, sports, and nature play to keep kid learning, moving or simply chilling out,” Cr Stennett said.
Holiday activities include:

Box Hill Community Arts Centre – Workshops and activities include sculpting in clay, wheel work, painting, cooking, drawing, weaving and more. Book early as places fill quickly!

Sportlink – Kelly Sports holiday program that incorporates soccer, football, cricket, hockey and other sports as well as crazy games, karate and dancing clinics. Kelly Sports is a registered childcare provider and childcare benefits apply.

Council’s ParksWide Nature Play Program – Enjoy outdoor adventures and learn about local habitats. Details of this program will be released later this month and will be published in the January edition of Whitehorse News.

Aqualink Box Hill and Aqualink Nunawading – Join the fun of the Chill Zone at both venues, an aquatic activity program including inflatables, Tarzan rope and diveboards.

Morack Golf Course and Driving Range – Improve your swing and have lots of fun at beginner and intermediate junior golf clinics. Supervised practice sessions, swing lessons, putting competition and more.
