The new Morack short course is perfect for junior golfers, beginners or anyone keen to enjoy a shortened form of the game, especially over the summer holiday period.
Whitehorse Councillor Bill Bennett said the playing distance on some fairways has been reduced for the short course format, so that golfers can enjoy a shortened version of the game.
“A special scorecard has also been created giving the adjusted distances along with some more relaxed rules,” Cr Bennett said.
“The Short Course is ideal for families, and all family members − from young kids to grandparents − can enjoy playing together. The coming summer holidays with light, balmy evenings offers a great chance to try out the short course.”
If you’re completely new to the game you can even hire clubs from the Pro Shop, seven days a week.
Morack is an 18-hole golf course with an attached driving range of 20 bays, including two that are dedicated teaching bays for lessons.
A fleet of modern motorised carts is available for hire along with an extensive range of golf clubs and pull buggies. A permanent barbeque facility is a popular meeting place for visiting players and groups following their round.
There is a dam, billabong, creek and water feature beside the second fairway that attract many water birds and golfers also enjoy views of the Dandenong Ranges, the course’s undulating layout, and natural bush.
