Global Fiesta is held each March and is Council’s Harmony Day event, celebrating the diverse cultural history, traditions, food and art of everyone who calls Australia home.
Whitehorse Councillor Denise Massoud said Council was now looking for local culturally diverse community and social groups and not-for-profit organisations to be a part of the 2018 Whitehorse Global Fiesta.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the local community, whether you hold a community stall, are part of a local group performing on stage, or operate an information stand you have the opportunity to reach an audience of Whitehorse locals and other visitors,” Cr Massoud said.
Global Fiesta 2018 will feature an exciting mix of entertainment, dancing, music, food, games, art and craft from around the world. It will be held in the beautiful Box Hill Gardens on Sunday 18 March, 12 noon-4pm.
The popular annual event provides a fabulous opportunity for local performing arts groups to share and showcase their skills and flair on stage, while community and social groups can raise awareness, fundraise and increase membership numbers.
If your community, social or performing arts group would like to take part, complete an expression of interest form and submit to Council by Friday 16 February 2018.
Forms can be completed online at Council’s website, www.whitehorse.vic.gov.au/Global-Fiesta.html
