Nurture your child’s creativity this term

The Box Hill Community Arts Centre has an amazing array of children’s art courses during term 2.

Whitehorse Councillor Tina Liu said the courses ranged from drawing and ceramics to cookery and the performing arts, and often have a wonderfully rewarding impact on participants.

“Our tutors cherish the development of children during our art courses each term. There is nothing more heartwarming than seeing creative expression boost a child’s confidence and abilities,” Cr Liu said.

“Nurturing a child’s creativity is precious and the popularity of these courses is very strong. We encourage you to book your spot quickly.”

The courses are delivered by qualified tutors and cater for children from kindergarten to upper primary age. Choose from a variety of courses including:

After School Pottery, nine weeks from 26 April, at 4.30pm-6pm (9 years +)
Create ceramic masterpieces in the clay studio.

  • Kindy Creations, six weeks from 28 April, at 9.30am-10.30am (3-5 years)
    Clay and craft creations for children and their carers.
  • Art for Kids, eight weeks from 29 April, at 9.30am-11am (6-12 years)
    Includes drawing, printmaking and collage.
  • Drama Stars, nine weeks from 2 May, at 4.30pm–5.30pm (6-12 years)
    Develop creativity through role playing, improvisation, play building and direction.
  • Toon Time, eight weeks from 4 May, at 4pm-5.30pm (8 years +)
    Learn techniques for drawing your own cartoons.
